This is the face of the unchecked revolving door of Sanctuary Cities. Back in April of this year WND reported "The violent crime rate in sanctuary cities, as indicated above, dramatically increased after sanctuary city policy was enacted, and even doubled in some cases. The researchers found “similar results for property crime property crime and rape.” The public is overwhelmingly opposed to sanctuary policies. A survey from Harvard-Harris found that 80 percent of voters say local authorities should have to comply with the law by reporting illegal immigrants with whom they come into contact to federal agents. Now the Justice Department is imposing new grant conditions regarding so called Sanctuary cities. Politico reports "Localities receiving funds through one of Justice's most popular grant programs will have to meet two new conditions: allowing immigration authorities access to local jails and prisons, and giving the feds 48-hour notice before an illegal immigrant wanted by the feds is released.” Monsters like Sergio Martinez lurking in the shadows of former President Obama’s immigration policies have reached a dead end according to ICE Director Thomas Homan. Perhaps in retrospect Obama’s undermining of our immigration system will have the unintended effect of strengthening it.
